It seems most vendors are using the excuse that they use to much power. I haven't heard so much of a rumor of a dual core netbook, only the desktop versions.

Netbooks are selling like crazy as it is. No need to spend a bunch of money to design and manufacture new netbooks just yet. If it ain't broke, don't fix it; right?

I wouldn't expect one soon. They just put out an N280 and they haven't even released the new GN40 chipset yet. Still pushing the 945GSE setup.
The dell i just got uses silverthorne and the new intel chipset, but its double edged. you get hardware video support in the gma 500, but a limit of 1gb of ram. great power efficiency and hyperthreading with silverthorne processors but almost zero upgrade options. at least in the dell rendition.
I will be curious to see if nvidia ion makes it to the netbook platform but i rather doubt it, since it will drive the price of entry up to like $600 for an ion netbook. my mini 12 was $629ish cdn already which is pretty high considering an aspire one is under $300.
im pretty sure microsoft is nerfing the dual core netbook market too, since they wont sell xp to oems that use the dual core atom.
