Buzzing UPS

Hey guys I have a APC SmartUPS 1500 and ocassionally it will buzz for about a minute then stop. It does not switch to battery mode it just buzzes. It is a bit old ~3 years probably time for a new battery but I am cheap. I don't really care how long it lasts just as long as I can get my computers turned off. I have a very light load on it none of the lights on the load bar are even lit.

I don't want to fry anything by letting this buzzing sound of unnoticed.

the battery is more than likely on its way out then.I can't think of any other reason.. We've had a couple of UPS's do that here at work, we just replace them and keep the old one till we get a new battery.

Alright I just don't want my UPS to blow my computers up. I will look into a new battery.
