Hello Everyone, this is my first post.
I have done some reading and research and decided to go for water cooling. I think I will benifit from this since I love to overclock and HATE NOISE. This is what I decided to get so far.
PUMP : EHIEM 1250 (are these loud, going for a near silent pc?)
BLOCKS: DD MAZE2 ( whats the difference between maze1, maze 2, and maze 4, which is the best ?
RADIATOR: BLACK ICE EXTREME
SILICON TUBES
I am a super newb when it comes to watercooling. Can someone please tell be what the difference is between a resovoire, pump and a heatercore ? Which one is the best to use ? Remember, i'm going for silent.
One more thing, what is bleeding and fill valves ? Will this help stabilize water flow? Please help me out guys. I'm a curious guy and want to learn more and more. Any links to watercooling glossary by any chance :D
Any help will be appreciated

Lets see.
Eheim 1250 - very quiet, mount on foam to reduce case vibrations.
Maze - the maze variants are for different processors, Maze1 fits S370, Maze2 fits socket athlons, Maze4 fits p4s.
Difference is between a resovoire, pump and a heatercore?
Pump - pumps the water, you need one of these.
Reservoir - holds water (basically a tank), this is optional (for inline pumps), can have the pump submerged in it, depending on the pump. I prefer inline pumps (i.e. out of the res) with a res for easy filling/bleeding. The eheim will run either submerged or inline.
Heatercore - a type of radiator, comes from a car where it's used to heat the passenger compartment. Generally considered the best type of radiator. The black ice is a custom design of these, if size isn't an issue you can get similar performance from something from autozone or similar for about 1/4 the price.
ButcherUK pretty much hit it on the head. Your part selection is great by the way. I Just wanted to give you a warm welcome to Overclockers.com. If you have any other questions feal free to ask!
Welcome to the forums!
Not too long ago i was just like you. A great article that helped me sooo much was this (http://www.overclockers.com/tips505) one. I pretty much did everything he did. I used the same pump which is alot cheaper than the ehim and it works just as good, you could get the pump i used right here (http://www.premiumaquatics.com/thestore/prods/MJ1200.html). I got my own raditor for $10, i used a heatercore from a junkyard and it works great. I also used a resivior to save space and help make the pump slient. When the pump is running i can't hear it at all. You will need to get something like water wetter to stop corrsion. Also its a good idea to mix a little water with just a drop of dish sop seperatly and then add just a little to your water cooling sytem, this help break surface tension and helps the watter get a little more heat. I don't have an any fill or bleed valves although they are a good idea and make it easier to drain the water and the air from the system. I don't know about those water blocks because i have them but i have heard the maze 2 is a good block, i use the BEcooling block that he used in that article and i am happy with it. If you have any questions at all then don't be afraid to ask no matter how stupid it may sound:D. Good luck

I use a maze2 and an eheim pump, both are top quality components, HIGHLY recommended. For a rad I just got a used heatercore for £5 ($7.50) so I'll hook that up and see how it works. If it's junk, hell not much money wasted :)

Wow, thanks for a warm welcome guys. I think I will like it here.

So, is there any advantage using a resevoir? Does it make the pump silent only or does it offer better cooling also? Does a water cooling setup must have a resevoir ? What do you mean be filling/bleeding ? Does every watercooling setup have to fill and bleed? any advantages on that?
Thats all for now. Sorry for so many questions, I just want to know everything 102 % before I start on anything.

I can't really think of any advatages of useing a resevoir, I have one in my sytem but i suppose it will quite the pump down a little mos pumps like the one i have are pretty much slient, and having resevior in your system is completly up to you. The fill and bleed valves are for convience, you must get all the air out of the system so instead of having to take the lid of the resevoir and letting the air out, or if you wanna drain the sytem you could just flip that switch rather than slowly unhooking a hose and draing each part, that again is up to you. Keep the questions coming, you can never know to much:D

some say that a resivoir helps because there is more water to heat, though it would seem that if run for long enough the system will eventually reach the same temperature would be the same. also i would think that a resivoir would make filling/bleeding a system easier (air collects at top of resivoir).
personally i'd say if you have room for a resivoir, and a submersible pump, why not use one?

I don;t think submersable pumps is a good idea - you add a lot more heat to the water that way. As for a res, easy filling bleeding is why, you don't have to take the lid off at all, if the res is the highest point (and it should be), the ait will just collect there. People often spend over an hour getting an inline system bled, with a res you're ready to go in a few minutes.

my resivore/pump that is outside of the resivore
the rez is all homemade....
with a refill cap and all and it works great, i dont have it hooked up rite now but i tested it...
the maxijet is a GREAt cheap pump! got mine for 19 bux

I would like to add that maze 1 would fit socket a if you don't have the 4 hole in mb mainly in the new dual boards with 760 mpx

Before I think about getting a resevoire, how often do you must bleed all the air out of the system ? Which resevoire would you guys recommend to buy?
And is there any articles or links out there that tell you how to bleed and fill a system because I have no clue at all.

you only have to bleed the system once, when you first install everything and then everytime you do something that will add air to it like take it apart. I used a 4x4 underground eletric box from lowes it cost me $8

thats the whole point of having resivor so easy bleeding

You can build a reservoir out of PVC pipe or a Tupperware container. Just go to a hardware store and look for a box that is watertight.

I would use velcro instead of foam to mount pump
