I have a 2GB Sandisk Cruzer Micro USB 2.0 Flash Drive and was curious if the write speeds I am getting are normal, slow, or what.

The write speeds are 8.08MB/sec on a 699mb movie.

All my drives are in the car or else I'd run a test to get the numbers for you.

I tested:
• Kingston 8GB DataTraveler Style, Black DTYLB/8GB
• Kingston 4GB DataTraveler Style, Black DTYLB/4GB
• Kingston 4GB DataTraveler 100 - DT100/4GB
• SanDisk 4GB Cruzer Micro SDCZ6-4096-A11

If in doubt, get the old Kingston DataTraveler 100 - DT100, not the new DataTraveler Style. It appears to transfer faster than the other 3 I tested.

I was surprised that the old Kingston DataTraveler was faster. As much as 20% faster.

Ya, I would love to have numbers that I could compare against to see how this drive fairs. I could've sworn I saw numbers somewhere but I can't remember where I saw them.

My freecom 2GB databar write speed was 6.5 MB/s when copying a 150MB file to it.

That's about right for a large file write. Small files are always slower.
