I'm looking at these but am willing to look at others in the same price range:

Don't really want anything under 60GB

Based on this: http://www.anandtech.com/storage/showdoc.aspx?i=3531 I wouldn't get either of those.

Seems like the Vertex is the way to go.

Quite a bit pricier though. It's replacing a 60GB 5400rpm drive btw.

I don't think the OCZ Solid or GSkill are worth it because of the stuttering issues.

If you can't afford Vertex I would check out the Samsung SLC drives. They are a little bit cheaper, but newegg only has the 1.8" version.

Yes, Vertex is worth the premium over any JMicron controlled SSD.

Yea, if you want things to work, avoid jmicron ssd´s

ok, how do I know what is jmicron and what isn't. I'm almost sold on just paying the extra jack for the Vertex though.

AFIK, Intels ,OCZ vertex and the Corsair SSDs do not use the jmicron controller

Please keep in mind that $40 promo code is for an APEX drive. Possible you saw the thread title before it got edited, I accidentally labeled it as Vertex but a mod has since remedied the situation.
