i wanted to buy one of these bad boys for around 30 bucks and see if i could just drill some holes and put my reservior/ heatercore in there. basically doing what the guy did in overclockers.com (watercooling section). but with a heatercore. well?

Ummm... Very bad idea. Look at its ratings. 48 watts. IT also uses a peltier to get cold. Real fridges have at elast 100 watts of cooling power.

You guys see "Extreme Water-Cooling Using Refrigeration"

I bought a big momma radiator but may try this instead.

I know that just sitting a rad in the fridge would not help much, and due to that the guy in the above tip made it stay as long as possible thru copper tubing, but I was wondering if there would be any difference at all if you just sat the rad in the fridge. What if you put a small resovoir right before the rad as well? Thanks for suggestions.

I tried almost the exact same thing that Mr. Singh did, back in August. I realized that the evaporator cooling the air in the fridge and then trying to keep up with CPU heat in the liquid in the copper tubes was very inefficient. The implementations where people submerged the evaporator in liquid and cooled the liquid that way has got to be much more efficient. Just my 2 cents.

I tried that way first too. Just doesn't work and I am using 110W compressor. Went the route of putting the evaporator in the coolant and works a treat. My article was;

As I said at the end of the article there are methods to find out how much compressor power you need to chill coolant. If one compressor is not enough then I have designed a two stage method using 2 compressors in tandem.

I was going to refer to sam's idea where you buy a huge lenght of copper tubing and then make it into a spiral so it gets really some time to cool by the fridge then it will get cooled by the heater core next in the fridge.

There's also a guy from the Intel section Nova something he had a fridge setup like this where he put his radiator heater core in there as well.

Yodums, did he have a good drop of temps? I am just wondering if its beneficial.
