I wasnt too sure where to put this thread, but I figured I may get the most responses here, but if it belongs elsewhere, sorry about that and feel free to move it.

Anyways, now to the subject. I have read about many programs that claim to overclock your computer by changing the FSB without restarting (i.e. CPUCool), but I am very skeptical about their claims to overclock with the FSB without restarting. Now tell me, are they just yanking our chains or are there facts to back-up their claims?

I've used SoftFSb on a few machines and it does overclock them without restarting. When u benchmark then you do see the difference.

btw. This would have probaly been better in "other software" :)

Hi rivercom9,
generally this kind of programs (SoftFSb or CpuFSB) are used to OC a Cpu on a Mobo without OC features, and the results are the same of an OC through Bios or Jumpers. To do that, you must know only the Model of Clock generator on Mobo, frequently Sisoft Sandra can helps, and after set the desidered Fsb Freq., much better if you can rise the Cpu voltage too, to get high Freq., and obviously is always needed a good Cpu Cooler to keep the Cpu temp @full load never above 45 degree C.

I hope it helps you ;)
