I've just bought my new setup, and I'm heavy on the cooling this time. The CPU I'm using is the XP 2000+ on a Abit KR7A-RAID mobo. I currently have 2 questions:
1. I'm currently running with a CAKII38... but I can get my hands on a Thermaltake Volcano 7 for free. Should I exchange the CAKII38 for the Volcano?
2. I have installed 4 cabinet coolers in my tower so far, and I have room for 2 more. (One 92mm and one 80mm) The 92mm is placed at the top of the tower while the 80mm one is at the buttom with the rest of the 80mm. My question is should I set the 92mm. as exhaust, or should i set that one allso to blow air into the cabinet? Do i need an exhaust or not? (all the other fans I have blow INTO the cabinet.)
Stay with the CAKII but use a 60mm 50CFM Delta on it with something to control the speed=noise.

What do you mean when you say USE A DELTA FAN on it? Are you saying keep the HS and get a new HSF?
Keep the GlobalWin CAKII because it is a way better heatsink. Now the Delta fan that I suggested would be a replacement for the existing fan that you have now if you want more cooling power to take that heatsink to the next level. The added benifit of a rheostat or fan speed controller circuit would be the ability to slow down the fan for everyday use & turn it up to max when you plan on doing something intensive.
Slow Fan = quiet
Fast Fan = LOUD but if your fragging someone it doesnt really matter:D

lol :D
I think I have a problem then... I live in Norway, and I don't think I have seen a webshop where you can get that kinda fan. If any of you know where I can get one, it would be great! :)
Btw. will the 80mm fan fit on top of the HS? or do they come with a smaller socket for fitting on smaller HS?
thanks!
I believe Bart Lane (http://1coolpc.com/home/) will ship worldwide. I too do not live in the USA & I have been using his service for certain cooling parts.

what bout my case fans? do I need an exhaust?
This is something that will have 50 different answers from 50 different people. Some say more intake some say more exhaust yadayadayadayadayadayadayadayada......
Always strive for equal CFM on your intake & exhaust. There will be a really long list of people that would say otherwise.
a. Some say more intake drops their temps. I would think the reason for that would be because the exhaust flow is more efficient so an increase in intake CFM would be called for.
b. Some say more exhaust drop their temps. Again this is probably that the intake is more efficient so an increase in exhaust will be needed.
If you got a PSU that has exhaust fans then that too have to be factored in your computations.
Positive air pressure can help with dust but that is another can of worms that I don't want to get into right now but if you want to then just ask.
Try to draw your case flow on paint then save it a .jpg & post it here. We can discuss this further if your wish.
Take a look at this thread (http://forums.overclockers.ws/vb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=57175&highlight=intake+exhaust). I just copied & paisted what I originally posted. Just ask if you need more help:beer:
