Help Meh overclock my 1500 xp+

:D Hi i was wandering how much can i overclock an AMD Athlon palamino 1500 xp + with like the standard heatsink and fan i don't wanna burn it out I just wanna know how much more speed i can get out of it with the basics and how much more if i buy like a £30 cooling unit.#

i wouldnt overclock it one bit!
not untill u get better cooling that is.
that heatsink isnt good enough to use even at stock cpu speeds
with bad airflow!
but get a much better heatsink first.then add some cooling fans.
at least 2 blowing in and 2 blowing out.
then u can try and overclock!
it sounds easy and cheap to do but in actuality it isnt!

First of all, Welcome to the Forums! :)

My first overclock was with my 900 Duron, Stock HSF. I got a measly 950 MHz stable. 2 weeks later I bought a good heatsink, and got 1050 MHz. Good cooling is a must if you want any decent overclock. You won't even notice the speed difference in a modest overclock. I would have to say, read the beginners guides on the main page, and arm yourself with information. It is your best friend.
