Hi guys and gals,

after adding a little 40x40x10mm fan to the northbridge greenie(had no time yet, to install my 40x40x16mm heatsink with added copper plate and 40x40x20mm fan!), I was able to run 166 MHz FSB @ CL2 2-2-2 5/7 which, thanks to my good RAM gave me a pretty good score, which can be seen below!

I think you need to update Sandra (help/webupdate wizzard).

PIII600@888 (crappy Kingston Value Memory for now, Mushkin was out of stock over here).

Sorry, but you can't be talking bout the same benchmark.
Use SiSoft Sandra 2002 latest version and select memeory benchmark and then please post the new score.:)

Why are your benches using SSE and mine is not??

Maybe cuz I'm using 2001TE Pro (Updated December 2001).

Quote from Sisoftware:2002 Update: Professional version users should NOT download this version - you will invalidate your copy!

Hmm, I'm using the freeware version of SiSoft Sandra 2002. That must be the reason why I can't bench with SSE support.

But who cares. I think you could disable SSE, so we could compare our scores???

Update: I just realized that I still used SiSoft Sandra 2001te Standard!! I'll update my Version and post new scores! Sorry guys, I was sure I had the newest version. I think I even already downloaded it but forgot to install.:p

PCI speed is 41 MHz and AGP is 82 MHz! I culd run 166 MHz FSB with the divider called "pll16" enabled which would give me 31 MHz PCI and 62 MHz AGP, but then I can't run my RAM at CL2 because those dividers extremely stress the northbridge and the RAM (more the northbridge than the RAM, I think!). I can't even run 160 MHz FSB stable at CL2, when the divider is enabled, so it must be the northbridge.

I'd have to say my ram aint that bad at CAS2 100fsb.

I think it was 500/450 or something .

Pretty equivilant to PC133 the first thing that shows up on default memory - PC133 Via something me forgets.

Why is my Ram Flot point is so lower than the Int point? I now that my fbs is also low (105) but shouldn't it be higher? It's a celeron 600@950 on bx.

The reason most of the other scores posted have their FPU / ALU scores closer together is due to the fact that they are using chips that utilize data prefetch technology.

Your cumine based celeron does not use data prefetch and only has 128kb of 4 way associative data cache as compared to 256k of 8 way associative data cache....

Your scores are quite normal.

Also the newer boards have better ram settings for the new ram like turbo settings on all the banks and it really kicks the memory up.

The Abit BE6 didn't have much of that.

If the difference between two is because of the facts
you have stated then how come the refrence system
"Intel 440 Bx PC100 CL2 SDRAM gets 692 to 670? I'd like to
see some bx users' memory scores.

My memory scores with SS Sandra 2001 and before used
to be paralel (even slightly better) than the Intel 440 Bx
PC100 CL2 SDRAM.

I did mem test with 2001 and 2000 again and there is nothing
wrong with the scores they give. But 2002 still gives the same
scores??

The other thing is that the refrence system Intel 815 PC100 CL2
SDRAM scores(645-634) below BX. Which means bx is more succesful than 815 in mem scores??

I don't see what your trying to say. Those i815 chipset memory scores are good 90% of them are over 1000/1000.

By the way you wait for my new rig and I'll post mine! hehe

Hey Tasos,

make sure, that you disabled the option "Auto Detect DIMM/PCI Clk". It kept me from getting to 1500 MHz first!!:)

Hope that helps!

Let me show this on picture so you'll understand better.

1)The refrence system "Intel 440 Bx PC100 CL2 SDRAM gets 692-670 and my Abit BE6 being an Intel 440 Bx scores 756-425 with PC100 ram@cas2. As I circled for you to see the difference. My question here is why does the reference bx scores 670 in "RAM Float" Is it because PIII is used with that system like Flu!d says?
If that is the reason, why did Sandra started to give extra score for 256k of 8 way associative data cache all of a sudden? There was no diffence between my score and the refrence bx score in any of the Sandra 2000 or 2001 versions.
I'd like to hear some celeron (100 fsb) and bx Sandra 2001 mem scores.

2) Yodums the scores which passes 1000 are running their fsb's like 140 to 166! I'm interested in scores at 100 fsb. By looking at the bx score I can tell that the old bx can give higher scores than the 815.

I'd say the Sandra reference mem benchmarks are peformed using a P3 based chip with data prefetch (ie: a Tualatin).

Data prefetch moves the FPU/ALU scores much closer together - This is how you tell if a chip has data prefetch or not.

A P3 without data prefetch (ie: a cumine) will always have about a 50mb/s difference between the FPU and the ALU graphs.

Data prefetch rules!:D

When i installed sandra2002, setup said i need some dll's before it works..so i downloaded those dlls from some russian page :D And then ran those bechmarks..results were similar like nucro's.

http://www.tpu.fi/~eeteva/sandra.jpg

but then again sandra2001 gives gg benchmarks

http://www.tpu.fi/~eeteva/sandra2001.jpg

I uninstalled sandra2002 and russian dlls and continued my life..end of story ;)

btw. I ran those tests at 129fsb. Long live Bx6r2! ^_^

Now I performed another memory test while I was surfing in the net 8 or 10 pages open, trying to chat on icq and listing to musin on winamp. And it scored: 616-603!!!
My int buufer score decresed 150 points but my float buffer scores increased by 150 points!
This is silly! I made the test for over 10 time none scored like this??

You have the fastest processor on a BX that i know of.And a very good oc on that adaptor. What voltage are you running that cpu at 1550Mhz ?

Well i was lazy and just pulled wire from vid3 to vss, so voltage is 1.725V. I still have intel cooler in that, but water cooling is on it's way. Gotta also improve mobo cooling cause chipset is pretty hot.

My gfx-card is asus v7700 geforce2 GTS
Results were 4326 3dmarks when i ran 3dmark2001 default benchmark at 1546mhz

http://gamershq.madonion.com/compare2k1.shtml?2586702

How much u 815i mobo owners get with g-force GTS card? Just curious about how much that 4x agp-bus raises results.

My g-force core was 200@243mhz and memory 330@400mhz
