I was told by a friend that I need to find some kind of data to burn to a cd and reformat the ten 320 gig western digital drives I got out of some used dvrs. Does anyone have any idea how to go about this? Thanks!!

If you're just looking to wipe them clean and then install in PC's later, the format doesn't need to be done till then. Wipe them with Dban (http://www.dban.org/download).

Yup, only time you need a special software to deal with DVRs is when you are taking standard drives and installing them to a DVR.

Okay after doing some reading my only question is. When I try to boot with this cd do I need to unhook my os drive or will its just give me the option of choosing what drive?
