EDIT: SORRY its the GA-EP45-UD3P not the GA-EP45T-UD3P (don't want ddr3)

Do you think this will make a decent setup with the board:

E8500 $299
ATX* *Gigabyte* *GA-EP45-UD3P $232
4GB Kit(2x2G)DDR2 1066 TEAM-XtreemDark 1.8v-2.0v 6-6-6-18 $85
1GB GTX 285 Inno3D $558
W.D. SATA 1TB $155
Lian-Li Full PC-V2010 $350
Seasonic PSR650+ $158
24” 5ms DVI WS Benq G2400WD $315
Logitech USB NewTouch 200 $13
USB Optical $5
+ Watercooling (swiftech waterblock/2x120mm radiator) - Already have it $0
Total $2170

- I'd like to be able to get it too 4ghz; though air temp is quite high here.

I could possibly change the ram for:
G.Skill-PI 4GB Kit (2x2G) DDR2 1066 / 1100 $109 / $139 If it would help it alot.

- Are any of the cpu heatpipe coolers likely to get any better than my watercooling setup? (I guessing you can't go below air temp).
Any other comments/help welcome.

The 45nm duals clock like raving loonies. Those things will cough up 4ghz on mid range air cooling, with water your probably looking more at 4.5-5ghz. I have heard that the EP45-UD3P (Non DDR3) doesn't clock duals too well, but I haven't had any experience with them. Got two cores doing nothing in my computer. :D

EDIT: whoa, 150 for a 1tb drive? Last I checked the 1TBs were in the 90-80$ range.

Remember its AUD.

I thought the ud3p's would be great for dual core :\

I've taken my choice from the following:

G-B UD3P $232
G-B UD3L $168
ASUS P5Q Deluxe $245
MSI P45 Platinum $215

I thought the ud3p had some nice stats for gaming etc.

The only ones missing that are worth mentioning are like DFI & ASROCK.
nforce boards seemed to be a bit too expensive for me (tho the 790i overlocks v.well apparently)

have you considered getting a quad instead that price seems kinda high for a e8500
edit: nm i just saw you say its in AUD.
