Each team captain, in a round-robin style, selects one member at a time, until all draft picks run out.

OK, still a relative n00b here ... whats a team race and how do I get in?

Yeah I will take number 4 sean thanks! Are you going to be putting up what respective output each of the participants are pushing so we can match up teams that way or no ? Just out of curiousity.

Team races are done while you are just doing your regular seti thing when we start the races we go from the amount of wu's you have then and then from that point on race to the finish of ohh so many wu's that is when the race is completed. We are trying a new way of "drafting" picking our teams so we will start with knowing each participants output so we can evenly match the teams up for the race. Team captains will then go round robin and choose their team members from the pool so to speak.

how 'bout all 4 team capitans + Chawken (he used to ran neck to neck w/ TC, i remember...) add together and compete w/ the rest of the group??!!................:D

Maybe we can look at doing something like that next time. Put several heavy's on the same team and see how many other members it takes to beat them. :)

Sounds like fun. Ive got the Athlon running good (about 6.7 hours per WU at 980MHz) and Ive got the Alpha 21164 processor in my posession. Still waiting for the mobo to clear customs from Russia, then Ill REALLY be smoking as Ill have a dedicated 64 bit machine running SETI 24/7. Next will be some sort of a Sun box also running 24/7.:mad:

Don't worry about it...same here...I should get my new box up in a week or two...then watch out...I could hit upto...oh wait...I will share that after I am picked...have to let the captains do their research :)

Oh...I want a signing bonus too...(figure make it like the real NFL draft)...and my agent wants 10%.

Alpha 21164 4.2 CPU cycles per FLOP ... meaning about 50% faster than my Athlon is going so Im guessing that WU times should be about 3.5-4 hours.

The SparcII should run pretty close to the same ... that's 17 WUs/day wth just four machines. :mad:

What is the race to? Your last race was to 3000, but it looks as if there are quite a few more people that want to participate in this one. With all those people it looks like a race to 5000 or more would be interesting.
