I have my server, which is a duron 1ghz w/ biostar crap mb, running at stock speed. The non-load temp is 53c!!! i'm not even gonna try and load this thing.... it's in a really small cube case  and has an AMD Recomended heatsink... i was thinking the mb temp sensor was crap, but i'm not sure.... What am i doing wrong, the air coming out of the ps fan is warm, not hot... any ideas?

1) airflow
2) heatsink sucks
3) motherboard monitor is wrong
how to fix it
1) put for case fans in (ones in front sucking in air, and in the back, blowing air out)
2) get a better hsf. damn near any hsf is better than the retail one, so take your pick
3) buy a temp sensor and put it on the cpu like this

sorry if the pic takes awhile to load... it's a bad/free server.

Thermal paste is on WAY TOO THICK!!! That is why you have high temps! Remove and reapply immediately! Here is a picture of what it should look like:

Your thermal layer is like too big, and the more you used the less effiective it beomes.
Go to Arcticsilver.com read the instructions to apply it.
You shouldn't even be using more than a rice grain size or a pea size of ASII. The tube should last you long..

could that be the problem that is resulting in a 10c jump? doesn't seem like thats the only problem. oh and since i'll be getting watercoling this week i can use my alpha beast on this chip. might have to do some case mods to get it in.....
