WIN2K w/ Starcraft problem

I have this problem w/ WIN2K and Starcraft. Everytime I finish playing Starcraft, it would not go away. Even if I END TASK it, it doesnt go away. Cuz of this...I cant do a normal shudown or restart.

I have tried end tasking it so many times.

I play starcraft on W2k and is fine.
I think you probably have to reinstall windows.
look like windows issue because u keep getting error.

oh one thing have u download and install W2K service pack 2 from microsoft. If not get it. Also get the latest driver for your video card.

I think that starcraft is meant for 95/98/Me only. Thats just a guess.

I have the SP2 installed and have the latest video drivers. I think I know what's giving me problems. I thihk it's that Direct 8.1X. Yeah, I think I'm gonna reinstall WIN2K but this time only have Direct 8X.

i remember it giving me problems when I first downloaded it. After that, I reinstalled windows and downloaded Direct 8.1x from the beginning thinking it would ok from the start.

by the way, which version of Direct X do you have?

I'm looking at the box now. This is what it appears exactly, Win95,98,NT.

I have played Starcraft on Win2k fine on another system though.

NT and Win2k...not really the same? Anyway, I think it's that Direct 8.1x

you can find out by going to Start/Run/ type in DXDIAG

starcraft works fine for me, and i have win 2kpro

Remember to get the Game Compatability Update from MS.

This is some Windows NT Kernal problem.

It happens alot to people, happened to me.

IT is where when say you close StarCraft it will close to the task bar and you can't end task it.

Its just an NT Kernal problem I guess try switching the compatbility mode to 98/ME.

how do I go bout switching that? plz help. I have a dual boot and prefer to use win2k all the time. I hate to reboot just to play SC.

I finally got Starcraft to work right w/ Win2K~!

I have uninstalled my A7A266 motherboard driver version 1.81 and reinstalled it w/ the one that came w/ the CD and it works.

Somehow, it works w/ WIN98se w/ the latest driver.

I have the same problem only different MB. I used the drivers included with the MB. I have directx 7.0 installed. and no SP installed. I also am running my Radeon VE 32mb ddr video card.



I will not dual boot this system (why install drivers twice?)

Edit nevermind I just updated win2k and all is good.
