I just got a ep45t-ud3p and it wont run it at spec.
Grated its not on the supported list But i would still think that it would

any ideas of what I need to set in the bios to get it to run at spec?

setting the voltage and timings didnt do it? what exactly is it doing?

it wont post with voltage at spec or even with timings at spec. I looked at gigabytes web page for this mobo and they dont support this ram.

I think i am SOL

I did I tried F5 and F6. I think F5 might be a little better. Kind of got burned out after blowing out my raid 0 three freaken times today.

You really think that F6 bios might help?

not F6 but a newer one, maybe a F7B or F8B if such a thing... to bad XS is still down, great place to find beta bios's for mobo's...

though on the other hand, it is possible to be your ram is just bad..

Dude this is a EP45T-UD3R.

Its not the DDR2 ver of the mobo its DDR3 hence the name in the thread.

The best they have is F6.

The ram I am running is this stuff

I dont think its bad. The person who had it before me tested it and he had no problems on a different Gigabyte mobo.

Will it post at loose timings at rated speed? When will it post? I would think if it wasn't supported then it wouldnt post no matter what unless a very slow speed or very loose timings.
It says in sig 1410 at 7-7-7-18, what is it's rated as that is pretty fast already.

you wont find a F7B on their site, B = beta for their naming schem, if i recall right... there has to be a F7B for your board unless they skipped toe F8B for testing... the bios number/name could be the same for your board as the ddr2 version but the file name will be different. abit did this and so far from what i see gigabyte does the same..

XS forums are down due to switching in the the SSD's that intel donated to them...

*edit*
i thought someone said it should be up later today, but im guessing monday...

about 1410 in my sig is bout the best. ratio i have tried many. I dont understand my strap you know i have A,B,C,D and then 200mhz, 266mhz, 333mhz, and 400mhz.

Super Talent is IMO just a cheap off brand. That stuff is fine for stuff to run at stock speeds in customer pc's and stuff, but I would not trust it for enthusiast use.
I still don't trust OCZ even at oc speeds much less even smaller guys.

Corsair, Crucial, Mushkin (historically, I have not used in awhile), and G.Skill are the brands I really trust to do rated speed at advertised timings and voltages. None of those companies has ever done me wrong.

Exchange the ram for more sticks, since they won't run at the rated speed at rated timings & voltage. Or return em towards the cost of something better. I particularly like this gskill for i7 use if you care about low price

If you want to drop a little more cash on memory you can step up to the cas8 version of that for a little more

the person that had them before me had no problem running them at stock speeds with stock volts.

Thanks for the link however I dont need a tipple kit just a dual.

well i would get

for the fact it has such low voltage, it will help with ocing more. now one report from xs showed that vaule ram to come with the good ocing ic's from micron. some report they didnt get those ic's, maybe a mixed bag. imo for $28 a stick i would take the change, but im tring to get a wcing so no play time with other parts.

Evilsizer thanks for the link.
That might be fun to play with. Cas 9 is pretty dam high for the speed. I got some good ram coming from a member here so I will get that a try. I'll keep you all updated.

If anyone sees a new bios for this mobo plz let me know.
Thanks!
