I've been having problems sending in WU's for the last 3-4 hours and now I can't even get a new work packet! I have been setting up XP pro on my secondary boxen and finally got my email transferred into outlook express 6 from my old 98 install(that was a pain in the a$$ itself; thank you Microsoft for not letting it import messages from OE 5) and I've been slowly Folding a GNRA hairpin with this box when I had XP up. I finally finished this WU and it tried to send it in and no luck sending, put it in the queue. Then it went to try to get a new work packet and it can't even do that..
I have 4 rigs Folding and these kind of problems are really starting to ****** me off. I'm burning a bunch of electricity doing this and they can't even keep their servers online. At least they could have the courtesy of posting some explanation as to what the problem is. I now have 1 rig sitting around with a thumb up it's butt doing nothing; almost makes me want to go hunt for E.T. instead. Stanford better get their act together soon or I'm going to go do some other distributed computing project.

Yep it seems that server 115 is down. I would have to say it is a pain in the A** but Hopefully it will get fixed soon. With a project this size things are going to mess up every once in a while. As long as they get it back up in a reasonable amount of time I won't go flaming the yahoo group. but I am going to go see what is being said right now. I will report back if I read anything good. Fold on!!!

The site seems fine now but it says "Can't access stats page" or something similar. I haven't had any real problems with it.

Dunno, maybe I got lucky & did this while they were up for couple of secs, or maybe they have a server up, & I connected to it. Try shuting the client down and restarting it.

The display keeps saying "downloading new core" then starts downloading. Once its done it says "Working ...". But then 2 seconds later it starts to download a new core again. What the heck is giong on here?

I do not know what is going on but try shutting it down then delete core65 then start it back up it should download a new core and be fine. Did you do anything to the core before it started to try and download a new one?

azhari: Don't know if this applies to you, but I encountered that problem when I had an unstable OC. "Core65 has caused errors and will be shut down." (in Win98SE) Then the client would download a new core. Could be a bug in the client/core, but I think it was my hardware. But, I don't remember it repeating the process indefinitely like it sounds is happening for you.

Thanks for the suggestion guys, but I tried quitting, deleting core ... My oc can't be the problem since its been running fine for a while. So something must have happened since it finished a job during the time that the server was sown.

I uninstalled F@H and reinstalled it. Its working fine now. I guess I'll have to check my other machines to make sure they're running ok now, but I won't be able to get to them for a few days. That sucks.

I finally got a new WU about 2 hours after my first post, but it still took the longest time for them to send it. They must be having some major software/server problems. I wonder if they were trying out some new revision of their server software or something. All this would have to happen while I was trying out the console version of the client though. Anyways, I have all 4 machines back up and Folding again.

Fold on, Brothers & Sisters.:)

I've just send and received a WU (about 10 min. ago), no problem whatsoever, as smooth as allways:)

That's good to hear. Maybe they are finally lining everything out over there at Stanford.
