View Full Version : 1800+ temp too high???
Just installed an 1800+ on an Abit KR7A-Raid. Idle temp is 47C (116F). Using a Millennium Glaciator II with AS II. Does this seem high? Too much AS II or not enough? The heatsink looks like it's sitting well. I may take the sink off and remount. Thanks, Kent :)

Those do seem a little high for XP & MGII... did u seat the HSF properly, not the other way 'round? u only have to apply a paper thin layer of ASII
Are you overclocking and have the voltage raised? The heat output of the cpu is much different under these conditions. If you are not OC'd your temps should be much lower.
No. I'm not overclocked yet. I'll take the sink off and remount and see.
I have a XP 1800+ AGKGA "Y"... with a CoolerMaster HHC-001 Heat Pipe and ASII. Overclocked to 1.72GHz, my idle temps are 33c and load is 37c. I once put too much ASII on it and my idle temp shot to 40c, then I shut it off soon as it hit 40c, cleaned off heatsink and processor, redid the ASII and now it's at the before mentioned temps. Hope this helps :) Good Luck!
Coolest, What do you mean by seat the heatsink? I installed it as directed in the instructions. Back clip, sit on the cpu, then front clip. I'm still running 47C-50C idle. This is way too high.

What is your room temperature. Check the ASII, what is your chipset temp.
