Will a 4x bus speed hurt my performance

I have a p35 with a busted 16x bus. The 4x works fine, but I want to know if I will loose much performance if I use the board. I will upgrade in the future, but I am a little low on money right now.

For games... yeah, it will most likely loose some performance... never tried myself so I don't know how much.

For Folding GPU2... it will work just fine, no loss of production. :)

Sweet :), this is for a dedicated folding machine
will a stock E5200 be fine for maximizing say, a GTS250 in performance?

Not to steal the thread, but are you planning on using a 16x card in a 4x slot? If so where are you getting the adapter for that? I also have a free 4x that I'm interested in using until I can get a 3 or 4 slot sli board.
