View Full Version : Am I limited by using 512mb or RAM

I have a monitor running at 1680 x 1050. I recently bought far cry 2, and running it at ultra high. When I'm at 2x AA it is buttary smooth, but when I hit 4x it gets choppy.

well it sounds like its most liekly the videocard ram but you could pull a stick and see if having 2xaa makes it as choppy and no aa is fine.

Sorry, I ment "512 of RAM" in my title, I have 8 gigs of RAM so I don't think that's the problem

that resolution isn't particularly high. i think it's just a micro stuttering issue. the settings i used to get less choppiness (catalyst 9.2 - simply haven't bothered to update) were 60 hz refresh rate, v sync on (i get bad tearing on my monitor), 4x anti aliasing, and everything else on ultra. leave the application to decide AF and AA in catalyst.
