Im POOR but I want to flight sim

I miss MS flight simulator... haven't played since FS5 (that's DOS folks)

I know I can't run FSX properly so I want to get FS2004.

Basically what I'm wondering is this:
Can I get away with a complete piece of trash joystick?
If not what would you guys recommend? I'd prefer a full control column, throttles jiggy and rudder pedals but I haven't got the coin. So please suggest a flight control unit, be it column or stick, which I can buy for about fifty bux...

while not quite a joystick or flight control unit, years back logitech made a gamepad called the Logitech wingman rumblepad. I used to have one and it worked perfectly for flight sims, it has a throttle slider on the top to control your throttle, 2 joysticks and 8 buttons wich is enough for all basic flight controls like trim,brakes,flaps etc.

It also should be relatively cheap with it being a rather old controller, something to think about at least if your looking for something on the cheap that can also pull double duty with any other gamepad style games like racing etc.

It's a good jump into and it won't break the bank. I have it for Hawx and I like it.

my system runs FS9 maxed out, havent tried FSX yet. FSX hasnt seemed to have picked up like the previous versions have. Doesnt seem to have the addon support and FS by itself isnt much. Just get a decent stick for $50 or less, craigslist, ebay, newegg, etc.. i fly with a saitek AV8R $30-40 on amazon

I'm using the Saitek N52 FCS. it's perfect for FSX and they even have a profile already built on the website

I've got a Microsoft Sidewinder joystick in my closet...with a Game Port, looks like a serial connector...guess how many motherboards & soundcards ship with a joystick port these days? lol

i have a black widow. looks like the one you have a link too, but i can recommend this highly. made in germany and very high quality. cost only £23.95inc. dont know about availability in US though! cant even find it onuk amazon now...

but if u find 1 at a reasonable price i'd say get it!

To the OP, get FSX, your system can run it properly, just OC the CPU to its max safe and you'll be cruising just fine. :)
