I have recently acquired a Sapphire TheatriX TV tuner card (based on the ATI 550pro)

What I need is software to utilize this card. But there is one fundamental problem....I have Little to no money to spend right now. ($30 is my upper limit). I have done some goggle searches and found some free programs but I don't have any experience with this kind of device to base my decision on:confused:. (nor do I want to compromise my system with crappy software)

BeyondTV has been recommended but at $100 it is a bit Mitch for my budget. (and I hate using free trial's)

Help me please....I have had this card for a month now and I would realy like to use it:(

Are you meaning a media frontend, if so take a look at GB-PVR (http://www.gbpvr.com/) or MediaPortal. (http://www.team-mediaportal.com/)

You didn't mention if you were willing to use an alternative OS, but i'll put in a plug for any MythTV variant. It can take a little time to get set up at first but works really well once done.
MythTV (http://www.mythtv.org/)
Distros (http://www.mythtv.org/wiki/MythTV_distros) that include MythTV in initial packages
LinuxMCE if it's a reasonably powerful computer
MythBuntu or MythDora if not as powerful.

Any one have any experience with ChrisTV ?? (link to website (http://www.chris-tv.com/features.html))
This looks rather straight forward and rather simple to use. I tried GB-PVR and MediaPortal - could not get ether one to work??? (I feel really dumb because of this....)

While I do want to be able to watch live TV on my computer... I am mostly interested in the tuner cards ability to record from analog sources (like a VCR).
I really don't neeeed a full featured Media front-head if I can do the above two things...
