I have puchased parts to build pcs in the past from Newegg, but I am new to the laptop scene i have been looking at an Acer Aspire AS8730-6951 for some gaming (wow, d3 when it releases and SC2) and to be my work horse for college.

Now I must be missing something cause these look identical to me. It's the first laptop i found in my price range that seems to have the amount of power i'm looking for.

So my question is why is bb's 200 bucks cheaper, i have never dealt with them so i'm not aware of their rebates and such.

make sure a BB around you has that available for pickup. shipping is not an option for that item. its probably clearance and certain stores or something.

the reason why BB can offer somethings for cheaper is because its probably a special manufactured BB version. BB gets "BB versions" of some laptops. like the Asus EEE PC 900A is a BB only version. Where as the HA is the public version you would find at most vendors. That is how BB was able to sell them off for $179 on clearance when everyone else still sold them for $230.

when things are cheap at BB its becuase their either end of life, deleted, or open item.

Best Buy tends to have more low cost low power laptops that your average Joe and Mrs. Joe can pick up for their son's or daughter's college PC. Newegg has a lot more selection and you'll have better luck finding a good performer there.
