View Full Version : Enable MINO in Windows XP Pro SP3 ?
Routers: 2wire / telus + Linksys wrt54gl
NIC: Linksys Wireless-N PCI Adapter WMP300N / MIMO
So.... my question is, how do i enable mimo ? I would like to connect to both routers at once and be able to utilize both of my connections "cable & DSL".
any ideas?

If you want to connect to both routers, you will need 2 network adapters.
You can't use your cable and dsl in a meaningful way at the same time anyways. Bundling them would need support at the ISP end for both ISPs and they won't do that, ever.
This guide will show you how to setup two connections that require DHCP.http://forums.techwatch.com.au/viewtopic.php?t=4802
Interesting read....
If that is not what you were after, try this one:
Load balancing. (http://doc.pfsense.org/index.php/Multi_WAN_/_Load_Balancing)

thats pretty lame :/
its how it works.
you could setup manual routes to your gateways for certain traffic. this would need a lot of input from you and you would need to get it right or you could break over the internet apps until you remove the config or add the missing subnets.
OR
you could buy a decent firewall, and have it automatically failover to your backup internet line when it detects your primary has failed.
you would be using two seperate WAN ip's each routed through your different ISP. if the firewall detected a fail prematurely then when its routing table was changed to point to your backup line it would break any tcp connection and this could mean any internet app you had running, including secure sessions. not really ideal.
how important is it that you have a constant internet connection?
