I tried renting this a while back but the 360 version was damaged at the Vid store and they never replaced it because it is hard to find for 360. The Wii and PS3 versions were stolen and never replaced. I found it on the 360 for $20 and just decided to get it.
IGNORE the IGN, GAMESPOT etc.... reviews although they are not bad.
THRILLVILLE: Off the Rails is AMAZING fun.
I thought I was just getting another Roller Coaster Tycoon or Theme Park type game, which I love, but it is sooooooo much more.
Just like Tycoon 3, you cna build your coasters and ride all the rides. However, you can also PLAY all the games and play games based on your coasters. Each and every thing has a mini game associated with it.
Some of the ones I've encountered that are more memorable:
A weird side scrolling TMNT line beat-em-up called Bandido Chinchilla
An Alex Kidd/Mario combination game which name I cannot remember
A Pilot-Wings like dog-fighting game
A top down ground based shooter like Ikari Warriors
a TOTAL 1942/1943 clone
a Rock-em-Sock-em robots clone
Several shooting gallery games
A FPS shooting gallery game
An XBL game, Aegis Wing clone
and more because I'm only 1/5 of the way through the game
For $20 there is just NO GOING WRONG with this game.
If you have your choice of platforms though, I think if I were to buy this over again I'd choose the Wii because there is just too much potentially fun stuff to do with the waggle. Second choice would be the one I bought, the 360 version due to the blatant achievement whoring but you still could not go wrong with the PS3 or PC version.
Seriously, don't walk run....google, whatever.... just get it!
