i was just wondering if anyone with this card is having the problems im having?

im getting the 'display driver stopped working' error regularly. i mean every 30 seconds or so in some games  and i havent oc'ed it at all, infact i tried downclocking it to see if that helped (it didnt) :(. its happened with every driver since they introduced the wddm i think and its really starting to **** me off.

it doesnt matter if its vista 32bit or W7 64bit.

is this just poor driver update from sapphire (as i heard they would have to amend the catalysts to fit the 4850 x2s) or could it be something else? it could only be heat or a faulty card otherwise right?

4850x2 owners input would be great :)

I made newegg allow me to switch my pos sapphire card even though i bought it under"no refund" parameters. I swapped and upgraded to the evga 285gtx and have never been happier with a card. i tried to get the 4850x2 to work for four days solid, with no aveil. The nvidia card was installed and running in 4 minutes.

I think code 43 is a standard now with update drivers and crossfire with 4 series cards. I know mine is giving me fits. Though, I think the problem is the Vista vgasave driver for me. I uninstalled it in the device manager and got the 9.3s to work until I rebooted. Now my monitor turns off cause it doesn't get a signal.

8.10s work fine though.:bang head

I've received two bad 4850 X2's and I know of a couple of OCForums members that have had to RMA their cards as well. Despite it being the best bang for the buck on the market right now, it's more hassle than it's worth. I've got an ASUS 4870 X2 on the way because I'm not going to mess with the 4850 X2 anymore.

yeah i hear ya!

otherwise the card rocks and plays topend games with ease. theres only crysis ive had to lower the AA to 2x with everything else maxed @1680/1050 every other game hasnt been a problem. its just sapphire themselves. they must have to make millions of cards just to get the ones out ther to work it seems, i'm completely fed up with them!

then theres their support. i told them about my problems and got a condescending reply, then after 3-4 replies from them and assuring them i'd tried everything they start again and tell me to do what they suggested in the first email. they just try to give you the runaround hoping you will eventually give up and go away.

they suck!

Thankfully I've only had to deal with NewEgg's service department, not Sapphire's.

My first 2 cards were RMA'd for various bios issues, the 2 new ones i recieved with newest/latest bios work flawlessly...

dont know if its any help, but i got this error all the bloody time on my 4850 but only when it was starved of voltage. i think its purely a bios issue. ive since modded my bios and hard modded the voltage and havent got an error since...... touch wood.

Getting the 4850x2 is more trouble than it is worth!
