Yo all,
I´m trying out to O/C my cpu and vid card this night. Latest try is 11x145=1600 Mhz, Vcore +0.025 volts(Athlon XP1700). Vid card at 275/275(Radeon 8500LE).
Sysmark2001 yields 8630 points at this setting, but something aint right. 3D mode graphics get all screwed up, textures drawn out and wrong colors. Good FPS though. :eh?:
The system seems stable otherwise. The video memory chips are the same as the retail version.
Could this be due to the altered PCI/AGP clock?
regards,
Henry.
It could be the frontside bus but it sounds like the memory on the card is too high. You might want to bring it down some and see if the colors and distortion come back to normal.

Henry I noticed you have an LE radeon, Try just overclocking the card to retail level(where your at) And run the same tests with the Cpu at default to narrow down your problem.

Which drivers are you using, and do you have a retail or OEM card?

Radeon 8500LE. I guess that is OEM? It has the same memory modules as the retail though. Driver: 6.13.10.3286
It seems like the CPU could have caused this. This is what I did:
CPU @1600, vcore 1.775v. GPU @275/275. Graphics errors.
CPU @1600, Vcore 1.775v. GPU @272/272. Grapchis errors, spontaneous restart during sysmark run.
CPU @1600, Vcore 1.8v. GPU @265/265. Graphics ok, Sysmark about 8450 points. Spontaneous restart during sysmark 2nd run in this mode.
CPU @1540, Vcore 1.775v. GPU @265/265. Graphics ok, sysmark points 8298.
Propably what I thought was "stable", was evertything but just that. Windows XP seem to disguise stability issues far better than W98.
I´m gonna make some more tests....but I´m a bit too tired right now(6 am here).
Intresting to see that the CPU and the GPU have about tha same effect in terms of performance. I expected that the CPU o/c would yield a lot more in performance. Also: Every 0.025 volts of increased Vcore seem to mean about 3 degrees C increase of CPU temperature.
Too bad the Sysmark2001 doen´t come with sound(I guess that would make the performace decrease?), some of the tests are really cool.

Henry.

I changed AGP memory apeture to 128 Mb and now it tends goof even at 265/265....
How do I make a VoltageMod for this card?

Henry.

Here is a link showing what worked for me:

Also I have since found some speed increases using the 6015 drivers with 6018 open gl???? file inserted (I forget) as reccomended somewhere in this board. Here are some of my benchmarks:

Sorry I do not have the exact info on the drivers. I am posting from my wife's box as I jus got back from a LAN party. :D
