Well i went to frys today on my way home to look at prices on a gigabit nic for my server.... and to my surprise they were having some AWESOME deals on networking stuff. Now i dunno if this was just for the oxnard frys or all of em so call em b 4 u go.

i have no clue, it wasnt in their ads and non of the price tags had good through dates on them like all the other deals do, i think they r just clearing out stock of airlink stuff.

FYI Airlink cards are Realtek cards with a different name (had to deal with one 2 days ago).

FYI replicating an overheating network card is a PITA.

never had any probs realtek nic's in my past and this new gigabit one i poped in my server provides excellent bandwidth and was very easy to install configure and hasnt shown n e probs.

Also forgot to mention that the gigabit nics come with a low profile bracket as well

There are NO good computer stores anywhere near me, and no computers shows come around any more either.

Dayton, OH area and the best I have is (not) Best Buy and Office Depot.

Used to have CompUSA but they're gone now. I couldn't buy a heatsink anywhere even if I wanted to.

My only option for components is ZipZoomFly, Directron, FlEbay, Newegg, TigerDirect, Xoxide, and OCforums. To be honest, I get the most from OCF.

acually it doesent, i bought one of those a while ago and it just doesent work with any thing hdmi that i have, vizio tv, 360, laptop, computer nothing worked

also frys have the dlink DIR-615 wireless n router for $40, same as newegg but no shipping if you buy in store, i grabbed on on tuesday and its pretty painless although QoS doesent work well on clear wire and clear wire causes sparatic data rates but stays close to 100mb/s its also 20/40Mhz, not advertised on the box at all

wow really... i bought one of those cables a while back and it works just fine with my main rig and htpc to hook to my 52incher as well as out dvd player and HT receiver.

hmm12 of '07 is your post so its about the same age as my tv, mine must just be extraordinarly picky or mabe i got a bad cable.

thats why i was askin 1.3 devices are backwards compatatable generally but i am sure some are better at doing it than others and i am sure newer sets are better at it aswell

wow dang i should've looked here sooner, I needed some gigabit switches and some gigabit nic's. Would've upgraded my home network nicely for fast file streaming to the 360 and the ps3.

just so you guys kno i was at frys today and they still had most of these deals going on with other airlink deals.... the oxnard frys had about 20 of the pci gigabit nics left for 1.90 as well as switches n a pci 54mbit wifi car for 4.90ish.

just an update guys... all frys are selling off all airlink products... if there are any left then are going to be HUGELY discounted. i grabbed 2 54mbit pci wifi cards for 90 CENTS a piece.

I just wish i had grabbed the usb 2.0 wired print server.... i need one now.
