What's the highest safe voltage to run an athlonXP on. i'm at 2.2v now. but i'm craving more speed.

XPs don't benefit much from overvolting as the previous Thunderbirds did.

It's hard for me to believe that your 1600 requires 2.2V to run at 1.63GHz when I have two on an MPX board that run that at default voltage. I wouldn't recommend more than what you have now at all and would back off if possible.

Volts or gigs?

My 1800+ ran fine @1.72g at 1.85v. 2v is quite alot for such a meager overclock.

I used to run my p3 700 @ 2.3v to burn it in after I chipped it hoping it would help and it never did. But I am crazy you shouldnt be... its bad for yoiur wallet.

Try getting it closer to 1.7g and then I will allow you to run at a high voltage ;-)

Thats good advice. The only reason I would turn my XPs up to 2.2v is if I was running a super-cooling rig...at very least watercooling and probably pelts at the minimum.

I can get 233MHz out of my XPs without ever touching the voltage.

Well He is running a water setup. But he isnt posting a really high overclock. There is a possibility that he just has a dog chip.

would burning it in have anything to do with it?

yeah that would seriously suck if my chip just plain sucks. oh well. i'll see what i can juice out of this baby when i get my pelt setup.
