Wondering if there is some software that will works like the SlingBox. I have searched google and found a few hits on some software to use. But I want to use something that is going to work. I have not set up an HTPC yet but i have a computer i can use. Just looking for some ideas.

Bump for a similar interest.
Orb works well if you have a supported tuner. If you're using Windows Media Center, Webguide also is a pretty good option.

I think Orb or Tversity might be your best bet. however, quite a few PVR software could do web streaming too, I know BeyondTV could stream recorded show over the web, even stream it to the iPhone. but no LiveTV tho.

Testing out Orb now. Seems to do pretty good. So far I'm only testing over the LAN and wireless. I'll try it from a remote location when I get a chance.
I am getting some freezing over the wireless sometimes and I'm pretty close to the AP. And sometimes it skips back to the beginning of the file...that's annoying.
I'm only using it for watching my DVD movies that are saved on the file server. My DVR isn't integrated into my HTPC. Oh, and being able to see all my files and pics is also very nice!
Webguide seemed like it was only for recorded shows/TV. I couldn't see my DVD's, but I didn't mess w/ it very long either.
I think I'll see how Tversity is as well.
Thanks for the help guys!

I use ORB too, it's great. I can even access it from my Blackberry, so I can watch recorded or even live tv on the go. I don't use it that often at all, but it's cool to have it available.
