I have zonealarm...but I was wondering if the XP firewall would give me added security. Better safe than sorry.

if your on 56k then u dont really need a firewall,
but zonealarm will be fine if you have it set right, XP's firewall could make your system lag/slower etc.. not a good thing IMO..

I beg to differ, dissolved. If you value your privacy, that is.
I have prevented scores of packets from being sent to the mfgrs of different software I have, incl. Zone Labs themselves.
Would I trust an M$ firewall? No, I would not. Firewalls in series = good, with no noticeable performance gain.
Yeah, ZA is good. I have it, aports ( to plug up selected NT ports, rather than denying all services 'net access), and TinyFirewall, in series.

Get SuperScan, then scan yourself (127.0.0.1) for open ports. Since, in Windoze, you prolly don't have source code to the proggies listening on those ports, I'd plug 'em up.
