multi. and fsb

why is it that u have to lower your multi. to gain a higher fsb right now i am at 7.5*143

and still trying to go higher with my fsb
i just changed my 2 bad sticks of ram to 1 128mb from my other computer

Your cpu speed is a result of your fsb x multiplier.
So unless you have a magic cpu that has unlimited mhz capability
you will need to lower the multiplier at some point to continue to raise the fsb.
