psu splicing

i have a 450w psu in my tower, and a spare 250w psu in an old tower. my 250w has a sata plug on it, my 450 doesnt. could i just cut the sata plug of the old psu and splice it onto my 450w. would that work or cause problems.

my bet is 'cause problems' spend 10 bucks at your local computer hardware store, get a molex->sata adapter
