I was stress testing my XP 1800+ AGKGA "Y" with SiSoft Sandra 2002.

The processor is overclocked to 1.72GHz @ 1.8vcore and DDR @ 2.8v ... 33c idle, 38c while folding.

Well this brings me to the before mention title of this post. What's up with Sandra's temperature readings? The whole time I was burning-in with CPU Arith. and CPU MM it was saying the processor was at 31.6c. (I wish  ). Meanwhile, MBM5 tells me the before mentioned temps.

I've noticed this about every Sandra to date, anyone have a clue why it reads soo low?

-Edit- Didn't know whether to post this in Cooling or Software, sorry!

well maybe you have MBM5 set wrong?
sisotf sandra is said to display temps different on some mobos... mine are the same as my bios, and same as mbm5...

Hrm.. no, BIOS says the same as MBM5. So I think Sandra is at fault. No clue where it's getting the 31c from. Oh well.. guess i'll have to rely on MBM5 ;)

Thanks anyway!

I was referring to the "setting up MBM5 wrong" :)

Sisoft takes the temps readout from my system probe for my CPU. I dont know why but i dont really rely on sisoft for temps readout anyway.

I agree that Sandra reports lower temps than they really are.
i'm gettin 15°C-18°C lower temps in Sandra than in MBM5 and BIOS.
I believe more in MBM5.
cheers

id say if your temp differ 15-18c than it (MBM) is set up wrong adn you are getting cpu confused with case temp.

My BIOS, MBM and Sisandra are EXACTY the same.

And so they should be!

on my box, sandra is acuurate to within a few degrees of MBprobe and my thermal diode I added. BUT- Sandra only updates the temp when you tell it too, so it looks like it is way off but really it is just updating too slow.

On another box I have, Sandra constantly reads 168deg C, while MBprobe works just fine. So- Sandra MAY work ok, but use something else just to be sure.:D
