I have the ms-7390 and i am a little confused on what manufacture should i use for my gaming computer my memory supports "
• Supports dual channel DDR2 533/667/800, using four 240-pin DDR2 DIMMs.
• Supports the memory size up to 8GB
• Supports 1.8v DDR2 SDRAM DIMM
So i am guessing i am going to go with 4GB of dual chanel ddr2-800 at 400MHz but i dont know if i should go with kingston or w/e price does not matter to me.

And there is a nother thing at the bottom like u say it supports SDRAM DIMM i thought ddr 2 is SDRAM should i get SDRAM instead of ddr 2

alright i am going to get off here but thanks for taking the time and reading this and responding

Caps are considered "YEALLLLLING" and thus a problem. WE do not allow flaming or even flame baiting here at OCF. I need to leave for about an hour, "I'll be baack" to check this thread.

The caps lock was a mistake so lets help this guy out. I'll start...

This wikipedia page explains a bit about DDR2 sdram (ddr2 memory is sdram). If you take a look you may find other info that helps you understand better:

thanks

thanks for the info and yes i did not mean to use caps i wannted to use caps because i missed a view things out and i wannted people to see it better i am sorry for the mis understanding

I looked up your mobo and it supports up to 8gb of ddr2 800 ram and if you go that route, then i suggest these OCZ Platinum.

As 4gb kits go, they cheap and plentiful and here are some decent candidates.

Corsair XMS2 4gb 2x2gb

OCZ ReaperX 4gb 2x2gb

Mushkin 4gb 2x2gb

Like I said, there are alot of cheaply priced great quality ram out there.

Why on Earth would you suggest Mushkin HPs when Redline Ascents are $1 more? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820146795

I'd stay away from OCZ anything, particularly the Reapers. The design gets in the way of many heatsinks. I would add G.Skill to the choice list.

First of all What is your operating system? And do you intend to stay on it for a while

If its xp i personally recommend a simple 2 gig kit with 4.4.4.12 timings

recently ive had a 4gig kit on 5.5.5.15 timings and wasn't impressed

my 2 gig kit on 4.4.4 was much better imo, I thought that maybe the extra ram would help some video/audio conversions but didnt notice any differance

I have ran these at 450 (900mhz) 4.4.4.12 at 2.3v

Right now Im running OCZ Flex XLC 2GB kit at 444mhz 4.4.4.12
