I dumped the 181.20 drivers & installed the 182.08's...

I doubt it was a driver version issue. Whatever it was though got fixed when you rebooted/reinstalled the driver.

Yes, more likely the reboot was the real benefit, I switched up to the 182.08s since they are the "known good" drivers atm.


Speaking of drivers, has the 185.20 driver issue regarding results corruption been resolved, or are they still on the "avoid using" list?

AFAIK, they weren't causing corruption, just not doing all the work that they were supposed to be doing. The 185.20 drivers were apparently skipping some of the work necessary to complete a unit properly. Fortunately, the core involved has been updated and it is no longer an issue. (It did slow things down a little for everyone, but they re-benchmarked the units, so PPD should be nearly the same now.)
