PCI-e slot question

Does any one know what the performance decrease is if using a mobo with one x16 and one x8 slot. Using this 780i with my quad and seem to be having problems. I have a P5Q-E and would like to switch over but would like to run dual cards.:)

From what I have heard and seen, there is very little (if any) performance decrease in the GPU2 client between x16 and x8 slots. In fact, I don't see any difference in the PPD between the GPU2 clients on my P6N mobo's.

People report no difference in GPU folding performance down to x4. Below that there's a slowdown.

The only problem I have run into is overclocking. I can overclock a card higher if it is the only one on the board. If I add 2 or more I have to clock them down a bit, But it does not matter if they are in the 16x or a 4x slot. It seems the same on all 3 AMD boards I have here.
