X58 chipset for 775?

So x48 was the end of 775 socket?
So we won't be seeing x 58 for 775 period ??
 
I doubt it, x58 has no memory contoller. I may be wrong tho, I don't know this for a fact this is just an educated guess.
 
Ya it seems they like to do that so we are forced to upgrade
 
umm im not sure how P45 is the same as x58... since x58 use QPI link to cpu(s) and has no traditional fsb. plus what is already said x58 does not have a memory controller since it is now on i7. intel doing this wasnt to force a upgrade but they had to change socket for they were putting into i7/i5. there is no way with the number of pins on LGA775 they would have been able to do tri-channel ram along with a QPI link.

i think you meant South Bridge, since both do use ICH10(R).
