So if i want to change my laptop HD.. The best one (price and speed wise) to get is the Intel X25-M??

Short answer is yes. Intel requires no tweaking other than a bios flash to get maximum/stable performance. A price conscience buyer should consider the OCZ Vertex as well, but you SHOULD definitely do A LOT of research on OS/Drive tweaking in here, and the OCZ forums before purchase of the drive. It will have a much higher sustained write than the Intel drive. 170 to 200 vs. 70 to 80 (X25-M). But, the Intel drive will blow away the drive in Random Read/Write performance which is what will be most noticeable. In the realm of Sustained Read the drives are about equal when all things are said, max/average STR's between 190 and 260 on both of the drives.

Hope this helps. Budget/Price conscience = OCZ Vertex
IMHO, best current consumer driver = Intel X25-M

IMO those drives are still to expensive from the performance you get from them. If it is just for school work I would rather have a 1Tb 7200rpm hd than an SSD in there :P

I agree, no reason to have a top of the line SSD if you are not an avid gamer/overclocker/performance junkie like myself.
