View Full Version : CPU Bits
In a nintendo 64, the processor is 64 bit.
In a PS2, the processor is 128 bit.
So, this leaves me two questions.
How many bits does a Athlon XP have?
How many bits does a P4 Northwood have?

athlon and intel are 32bit processors, the ps2 is really 2 64bit processors working together. NEC has come out with a 64bit processor that is compatible with the new Windows CE .net OS(supposedly the first look here http://www.nec.co.jp/press/en/0201/0702.html )
remember when the whole 'bits' thing was super important? People would come to blows over the 8-bit v. 16-bit thing.
When someone tells you their n64 is faster than your PC because it is 64bit, just walk away slowly.:D To this day, I get people saying that to me....

32 bit means that it processes 32 bits of data for evey cycle, right?
