View Full Version : Something kinda odd in XP

This really isn't a huge problem, more of just an annoyance, but I was curious to see whether anyone else was experiencing the same thing...

I'm using XP home edition. Sometimes (but not always) when the screen saver is activated and/or I bring the computer out of sleep mode, my taskbar at the bottom of the screen is completely gone. Just *poof* gone! If I hit the windows key on the keyboard, my start menu and programs and stuff will come up like it should, but the taskbar, clock and system tray is still gone. I don't have auto hide or anything like that on.

Any ideas as to what might cause something like this?

Make sure your properties for the task bar don't have "Auto-hide the taskbar" selected.

Using the Windows key is a shortcut to the start menu, so tapping it would of course unhide the task bar...

I believe the last sentence of the second paragraph indicated that I didn't have auto hide turned on....

It wouldn´t help - drivers are only bridges for win-s.
As far as I know, docm, you can find this problem on Pro too.

Search for the item, called hide inactive icons. turn it off and reboot. This little (>) can cause many problems.
Hope this helps!
