Hi I'm about to buy a couple of fans, among others some 120X38mm (maybe 120X25mm) fans. I just wanted to hear what brand of fans you are using, and why??
Thanks

I'm very satisfied by Sunon's, that I've choosed coz available where i live, and there are in the size 120x120x25mm rated for 89Cfm@44db and 120x120x38mm rated for 108Cfm@49db.
In the 120mm category, I like the low velocity Panaflo 120x38. They are quiet yet the extra thickness insures good pushing ability. Avoid the 120x25mm fans if you can get the 120x38mm at a comparable price. Thicker is always better, regardless of velocity.

I like the 120mm x 35mm YS-Tech 131c.f.m.

Go to www.sidewindercomputers.com and take a look at the fans there. They range from $10 to $25 plus $5.00 shippng up to 2 LBs and you can hear just how loud the fan is.

Panaflo's are said to be the best. IMHO, 100 cfm throughput is needed for stock AMD boxes. If you need to move 100cfm of air through a un-OC'd AMD box, you have two basic choices.
You can avoid the trouble of cutting more than one 120mm intake hole as well as the expense of buying two(or more for folks that find 100-135cfm too wussed) 120mm intake fans by:
Buying one Panaflo comparable to the 108cfm Sunon/138cfm YSTech 120mm fans. Or just buy a Sunon to avoid the extra expense of a Panaflo, or the lesser quality of the YSTech 138cfm 120mm.
I have had two of the Sunon 108cfm's running for about a year. No worries, but they are l o u d.

I just thought of one for you if you can handle it. Comair 172mm 235c.f.m. fan. If you get that one tho make sure to get a fan grill cause it will take fingers.

I have to totally agree!
infact I've preferred a cheap Sunon 89Cfm for the summer, modded @7v during winter.
