Hey do any of you guys have this board. The HSF on it will like slow down and speed up sometimes. For example, when I scroll text or maximize windows, the fan slows down but when I stop doing anything, it sounds like is speeds up to normal rpm...I mean I can hear it slow down, it's annoying :( . Also it froze up my comp a few times too, I'm not sure what the problem is.
Does the geforce 3 ti 200 not mix well with the sb live 5.1 sound card? I really need help on this :)

thanks guys

My GeForce2 Ti 500 used to do that, because I overclocked it too much, but if you didnt do anything to it, its maybe something getting in the way. Double check your card, making sure nothing is in contact with the fan its self, and if not, contact your manufacturer.

You shouldn't really notice noise from a stock Ti 200 fan with case fans, CPU hsf and the PSU fans all going. So I'm thinking the fan is on it's way out.

Still it's hard to tell without actually hearing it, but it would also explain why your system is unstable. If it doesn't spin at proper speed all the time your gfx card is gonna get toasty.

in my opinion the noise u hear is about the psu, not a problem with the video card or any fan you have. this is common with the machines that havent a powerful enough psu. the lockups is also popular when it lacks the needed power. what psu do u have?

I bought one of those alien ware cpu towers that had 3 fans in it and I'm assuming it was a 300watt psu.
The tower was just empty with just 3 fans and a psu, the rest of hardware i bought myself

thanks guys for the help

that is too low. consider to get at least a 400W psu.
