So I just installed notfreds vm for smp and the gpu2 client for my vid card. Since people were saying that a quad core should run two of the vm's I figured I would try it out and my ppd dropped by 500 points. Mostly the gpu was no longer getting the cycles from the pc that it needed methinks. Does that seem right? A 3.2 PII 720 running one vm and a 3870 getting 4500 combined? Or is there something that I am missing?

gpu set to slightly higher priority?

Set the GPU client to slightly higher priority in the GPU configuration, and set the VM to low priority in Task Manager. Since you are running an ATI GPU, you may need to play with the "environment variables" to reduce the amount of CPU that your GPU is using.

Already done and done, but what environmental variables can I change?

that sounds about right to me.

I know ati cards are alittle tricky getting then to use less cpu cycles...
