Hello, and Welcome to the Fourms ! :D

It sounds like your right about the "norm" for temps.
I run about those same temps, and my Volts are 1.81v to the core.

What is a "Normal" cpu cooler? Or do you mean You are using the factory HSF setup? Almost anything is better than the factory stuff. ;)

Please check the front page for accurate HSF recomendations.
Almost all the companies sell thier stuff online too.

Good Luck.

For heatsink/fan combo's at a decent price...

Millenium Glaciator II (this one is really good)
Dragon Orb 3 (huge, cool-looking)
Volcano 6cu or Volcano 7 (but the V7 requires a simple modification to work well)

These are not the very best, but they're up there. They all sell for around $25-$30 US dollars. You can order these online, although I'm not sure of any dealers near you, so the shipping costs may be high.

Also, get some good thermal paste/adhesive to use when putting on your new heatsink. Artic Silver II is highly recommended.

A lot depends upon where you want to take that 1600. I just got one of the AGNGA "Y" Green ones this past Sunday. I unlocked it yesterday and this is what it can do with simple water cooling:

10.5x155 @ 1.625V (1631 Mhz) 28C running Prime 95 torture
11.0x155 @ 1.700V (1709 Mhz) 30C running Prime 95 Torture
11.5x155 @ 1.825V (1786 Mhz) 33C running Prime 95 Torture
12.0x150 @ 1.900V (1807 Mhz) 36C running Prime 95 Torture
12.0x155 @ ??? Haven't implemented Core Voltage Mod yet, but looks do-able.

AGNGA "Y" is the stepping code. It's on the top of the core. 2nd line down from the AMD Athlon line. Yours may be different. I think two more are AGKGA (mine) and AGOGA. I know with the TBird's different steppings were better overclockers. Not sure on the XP's yet though, the're kinda new

With a high-quality air-cooled heatsink, you should expect to get close to 1600 or maybe higher.
