So thinking of selling the GTS sli, and getting 1 new nvidia card (to SLI later).
Im thinking i should get a 285, and then another down the road?
i woudl rather the 1gb now, to SLI later.
where have people bought their 285s? im seeing around 310$ lowest on the egg....

Is that $310 with/without rebate?
I got my 285 from buy.com on eBay. Using 14% eBay cashback and including the $25 EVGA rebate, it came out to be $275 shipped. Course, that's after rebate and cashback. Upfront cost is $345. This is the cheapest way I know of to get a 285 from an *authorized* seller... I'm waiting for cashback to climb a bit more before I pull the trigger on another 285. Right now it's only at 8%.
I would only get the 285 if you like knowing you have the best single gpu card. Otherwise a 275 seems more sensible even for the enthusiast. It is pretty much neck and neck with the 285 in most of the benchmarks I've seen. I love my 285 though; I think the 1GB memory is a benefit to me because I'm at 1920 x 1080 on a 40" screen, but not really sure how much big of a benefit. The 285 I have does squeal sometimes too... so it's not the perfect card. Also there are now two different versions of the 285s. One cosmetic difference -- a red top on the heatsink... I've seen them on newegg along with the black cover heatsink. I don't think they perform differently because they are priced the same.
Good luck in your decision. I know for me it was easy because I wanted the best single gpu card on the market. For price/performance, it would have been better to go with a 275.

Its rumored that the 300 series cards will be out in Q4 of this year, so you may be a bit upset when it does. Thats still 6 months away, so I dont know what you want to do. Sell the GTS and use a backup card if you have one, or but a 285, and try to sell it when November comes around.
