Okay guys

I need some input on this one, I have a friend that is willing to sell me his old k62-400, now this is the mobo, proc. and case. so how much do you think i should tell him i am willing to pay for this.

Well, lets see. I just purchased a small ATX case for $40. Pricewatch says the processor is selling for about $25. A cheap Socket 7 board can be had for $50, but lets assume that it is about $75 or so. Depending on what else is in there I would say about $150. If there is a sound card, video card, memory, hard drive, CD-rom... then it could be up to $250-$300 range.

however, I could put a duron system together for that, so you need to apply the obsolete processor discount...$100-150 TOPS

I wouldn't go more than $150 for the box only.

I think that i will offer him 100 for the box, it is only the cpu, mobo and case, nothing else. but i do have everything for it except the hd.

Anybody selling a cheap hd? :D
