Sorry this may seem like a newbie question

Is it easy to put the motherboard in the case? or do engineers usually do that sort of thing?
I can pretty much install everything else, just not sure if i get a new case and a new motherboard i will know how to put it in
usually i buy from dell so i don't have this problem, but they are too expensive

Putting a motherboard in is no harder then installing RAM..

just follow the instructions and you'll be fine should not take more then 5-10 mins if you take your time:cool:

Pretty simple, usually. You just use something called "stand-offs" (come with the case) under the motherboard and screw into them from the top. I think that you can handle it.

Welcome to the Forums! As Mooch said it is not to difficult.
Read the mother board manual completley before you begin
make sure to wear an antistatic wrist band and if you have any questions along the way don't hesitate to post, also read thru
the forums there is a vast wealth of knowledge here.
Good luck and in no time you will be pushing that new rig to the limit. Be warned tweaking and overclocking can be habit forming. :D

As the guys have mentioned, it's pretty straight forward, BUT be warned.

I had an old Daewoo tower running a P3 450, upgraded to an ABIT K7 Raid with a 1 gig Athlon. Looked great, put it in & switched on....BANG, smoke from PSU, no boot.
Decided PSU was faulty, got it exchanged (it just died, honest), put it in, switched on....BANG. 2 faulty PSUs ina row...went to get 3rd PSU., counter guy saw me coming, B*****D started to laugh. Gave me uprated 350w pSU.
You guessed it, switched on...BANG

I finally reallised that something was not right. Removed smoking PSU, drives etc, finally removed motherboard.

Oh Dear...the Daewoo case was non standard, and had an EXTRA brass standoff.... which I had not noticed....which was poking into the PCB...between the new GF2 and the CPU.

After the counter guy (and his 3 mates) had stopped laughing, and finally managed to see through their tears, they gave me a new cpu, mobo, GF2, modem and a 350w PSU for 50%. They said it was worth it for the laughs.

All true, no exaggeration. The moral of the story is....check for shorts before you switch on.

good luck
