I have a geforce2 64mb card and a samsung syncmaster 955df 19" monitor running under windows xp. At any refresh rate above 60hz the screen wobbles a little, except 100hz is pretty stable. I have a home theater system on a shelf right below the monitor, but the screen shakes even when its off. I downloaded the latest xp drivers and nothing changed. Any Ideas appreciated, cant stand 60hz for long. OH, screen resolution is at 1024x728, but the same thing happens in every resolution.

theres a botton in your montior conrtolls that will demagitize it...
on mine it looks like a U magnet.. try messing with the buttons and see if it fixes it...

yea, i tried that. It looks good for about a second and then back to the shakes. I have a lot of A/V equip in the area. Including a wireless a/v transmitter. I think the environment might be the prob.

degauss your monitor, wait like 5 sec and degauss it again. if you see it is still degaussing like the first time you must have a problem with the environment.

The 2nd time i degauss it at 60hz not much happens, but the 2nd time at 75hz is about the same as the first. So does this mean that im stuck at 60hz?

Or you could move your computer or A/V stuff to another room. Other than that there's not much you can do. Does your A/V stuff generate alot a magnatism? e.g. Big speakers.

i think you should move something too. at least to make a test.

The same thing happens to me
Only it shakes sometimes not all the time
I dont know why Its pretty annoying when it does
Next time it happens ill degauss twice and see if it works

hell i cant even set my monitor above 60hz, maybe the refresh rate bug.

I have an AIWA home stereo and the 2 main speakers are siting beside mhy monitor TOUCHING it, and i get not fuzzy ness or colors at all, does maybe teh speakers or monitor have sheilding or what.

So far all is good but i dont wanna loose my monitor?

There is an XP/ HZ greater then 60 hz prob...

Read about it here...

http://www.omegacorner.com/

Its more for the ati radeon then the geforce... but it should help...

I just got the 19' samsung. When I have the screen with light color background, I noticed a little black spot diming on my screen.

Nate I wasn't clear on your response but it did tinker something in my brain when you mentioned it and if what I'm saying is your idea then cool :D

Windows NT Kernal has a 60hz bug so you have to get the "nVidia Refresh Rate Fixer" and it optimizes your monitor to the maximum performance other than 60hz and games will go blank on 60hz..

Search for it at google.com

I think the card is the prob. I shut off all the other electrical equip in my room (besides computer) and set the refresh rate to 75hz. It was still shaky. I also switched monitors and had the same results. I already downloaded all the new xp drivers for the mobo and GF2 64mb card.

perhaps the monitor? if you degauss it and the img stabilize for a time that means its not the video card. perhaps the monitor was too much exposed to the magnetism of that room... why dont u try to test using another monitor?

If all else fails, you can always try taking it back. If it does the same thing with another monitor, then you've got some rearranging to do. Large speakers/subs or the worst case. Computer speakers are shielded. You should move any speakers at least 5-10 feet from the monitor. Or try removing them from the room to see if it helps.

Good Luck

I thought for sure that the card was the problem. I removed all the av equipment from my room and the screen was still shaky above 60hz. So then i switched this monitor with one i know is working right and the same shakiness above 60hz occurs. Last night i traded in the gf2 for a radeon 7000 and the f'ing thing still shakes above 60hz. Im totally out of ideas. Could the mobo be bad? (btw does any1 know how to make the mouse behave correctly with this card? It slows down over apps, and half the time i try to click something it misses, its so annoying!)

smoothshady, if the img stabilize after you degauss the screen with the old or the new monitor the problem can only be the magnetism, in the monitor; even if it wont keep that way for too long, the short stable screen indicates that the problem is about the monitor.
i would seriuously concern about leaving the computer in that room.
when you installed the new monitor did you also try to degauss the screen? did it stabilize for sometime like the other?

My roomate has had that problem before. I told him he should wrap his monitor in tin-foil...the dumb bastich did it and it actually helped. Go figure.
