A Duron is an AMD chip...you might want to post in the proper forum. You get better results...hopefully a mod will move this for you. I don't know much about durons, but I think you can get atleast 100MHz extra out of the thing.

AMD is on the other side of the town in other words you are in the Intel section and we can't help you since our AMD knowledge is very minimal.

OK how many posts do we need reiterating the same point? There is a hyperlink that says 'Report this post to a moderator', use it or PM a mod on duty.

As for the question, I will tell you high it goes once yoiu max it out. It could only go to 1050MHz or scream up to 1500MHz. It all depends on your luck. I feel that a 33% O/C is a norm for most chips unless the whole stepping/speed is identified as a complete dog.

Of the six posts in the 1g Duron database the highest went to 1250MHz and the lowest 1125MHZ and the mean being 1189MHz

EDIT: WOW it took me less than 12 minutes to get this post moved into the proper topic. All I had to do was PM a mod. Please dont let this forum get like others where all we do is harp on others. That does nothing but drive people away. The thread starter made a simple mistake, you'll live... I promise.

Just moved this thread for you guys...

I should have left it as the Intel guys probably can answer the question better than you AMD people :p

I personally favour burning in the proc but don't particularly want to get into a debate over the pros and cons of this. Suffice that it has worked for me on a number of processors. An interesting read about this is available at the following site and was written by an electronics engineer working for a chip manufacturer;

I have found that with patience and really good cooling you will be surprised what you can get.
Good luck.
